SHOH Golf Day 2023

SHOH GOLF DAY 2023

What an incredible day it was at The Oaks Golf Club & Spa for the 14th Selby Hands of Hope 'Ryder Cup'! We had a fantastic turnout with 84 players competing in this exciting event.

I'm thrilled to announce that the Blues emerged victorious in the team event, with Captain Paul Lighten successfully defending their title and securing their 8th win in the 14-year history of the tournament. Congratulations, Blues!

In the individual Stableford competition, we had outstanding performances from Lee Wetherill, who claimed the victory in the 14 handicap and under category, and Michael Hissett, who triumphed in the 15 and over category. Well done, Lee and Mick!

The best part is that this event also served a great purpose. Together, we raised a whopping £2,662 for SHOH, a remarkable achievement. I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Sharon Loughton and Colin Tute for their incredible efforts in organising the raffle, which contributed an impressive £624 to the total amount.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the players who participated and made this day truly special. Your support means the world to us. Thanks also want to thank Matt Bugg from Sign & Display Solutions for generously donating all the signs, adding a professional touch to the event.

A special thanks goes to Pippa Aked and the entire team at The Oaks Golf Club & Spa for their exceptional hospitality and for hosting yet another remarkable event. Without your dedication and support, none of this would have been possible.

Lastly, I would like to acknowledge all our sponsors for their generous support, with a special mention to Duncan Phillips and Waingap, who kindly donated a new trophy. We are incredibly grateful for your continued support.

We're already looking forward to the next SHOH Golf Day. The date is yet to be confirmed, but rest assured it will be an invitational event that you won't want to miss!

Thank you all once again for making SHOH Golf Day 2023 a resounding success. Together, we are making a positive impact in our community.
