Huge Thanks to DSS / Drainage Services York

We are incredibly grateful to DSS Waterguard for raising an amazing £5,500 for Selby Hands of Hope by taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

​

It means so much to us that Mitch Singh, son of our late founder Wendy Singh, was among those who completed the walk alongside the DSS team. Wendy’s vision continues to inspire the charity today, and seeing her family and the local community come together in her memory is truly special.

Here’s what Alwyn, owner of DSS, had to say:

“We were first introduced to this fantastic charity by our employee Mitch Singh, whose mum founded the charity in 2009. As a company we like to support local charities, so Selby Hands of Hope is a great fit for us. We raised this money with a sponsored walk across the Yorkshire Three Peaks, and we are already plotting new ways to support this superb local charity next year.

We all had a fantastic day on the challenge and it was a great team-building exercise for us. Having the personal connection to the charity by way of Mitch makes it very special, and we look forward to doing our bit again next year.”

“A massive thanks to Alwyn and the whole DSS team for your efforts — not just in completing the Three Peaks, but also in raising such an amazing amount. I know how hard it is to fundraise, so reaching £5,500 is incredible. Thanks again for all your support — not only on this event, but also at our annual Summer Ball and Golf Day.

Mitch has always wanted to get involved in active events to fundraise and has worried he might not be able to do it. Well, this shows he can achieve anything. I’m really proud of him, and it’s a massive honour to the charity that Alwyn, Dan, and the rest of the team at DSS wanted to help us.”
